Windows 10 inaccessible boot device reddit free download. [FIXED] BSOD System Service Exception Stop Code Windows 10/11 [MiniTool Tips]

THE PROBLEM Some of you may be aware that Microsoft’s latest builds of Windows 10 are bricking some older machines by making their boot device disconnect mid-boot. I want to note that while MS says this is limited to AMD devices – my machine that suffered this was an i7 on a z68 gigabyte UD3 motherboard running the latest bios. Since upgrading to Win10, we have been hit with waves where around every 6 months, machines would be pacified with “INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE” bsod on startup after an update. After much cursing at Microsoft, we concluded it most likely is our F-Secure antivirus that tried to install both delta and cumulative updates simultaneously, which. This will repair Windows 10 while keeping all programs, files, and settings. After this, you should run Windows update and be all set. If you reboot, and the INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE comes back up, I have not been able to move past this and have had to re-image. EDIT; These were all Intel machines.

The absolute worst part about all of this is they come down as mandatory updates without warning. This is difficult to fix – but it can be done if you have access to the Advanced boot options and can get the command prompt.
If you have a computer running x58 or z68 and your windows is still working You’ll note that MS states this is resolved by KB , but that is not my experience. Installing either of these will make your PC unable to boot. If you are on Disabling Windows Update This is where things get really bad.
Windows Update will automatically reinstall one of these two updates, leaving your PC unbootable again. This is why we airgapped the computer earlier by disabling network access entirely. If you’re on Windows 10 Pro, you can disable Windows Update until this gets sorted out.
If not – you’ll need to explore other options. This should prevent Windows Update from bricking your machine again. Hunker down and wait for the dust to settle. Eventually they should get this sorted out and have an update that will fix your machine while not leaving it unbootable.
I have a lot of respect for people who take the time out of their day to help people on the internet. Stumbled across this post just as my work computer started having this issue.
Thanks for pointing this out. It’s been corrected. Remember all that astroturfing for Windows 10? That’s unthinkable that that would ever happen Update to Windows 10 today or you might just miss your chance!
This is what forced updates gets you, elaborate workarounds just to prevent Microsoft from remotely bricking your computer. I mean That’s unthinkable that that would ever happen. No, I do not remember that. I don’t think it ever happened but I’d like to see proof if it exists, because I’d like to laugh at anybody stupid enough to think that there will never again be an OS update that doesn’t bug out and cause some kind of problem for a fraction of users.
But I do like your phrasing, ‘Microsoft pushing update that harms your system’, as if it was intentional malice, the dark lord Bill Gates laughing maniacally atop his silicon throne.
You should put in a resume to a prime time news channel. Their intention doesn’t matter, what matters is the fact they’ve done everything they can to prevent you from being able to fix it yourself. Them releasing an update that hurts your system wouldn’t bother me that much if they didn’t force you to install it. As for evidence, I’m afraid I’m not going to bother to shuffle through months of posts or use reddit’s awful search, looking for threads about windows Suffice to say there have been a lot of W10 threads that were suspiciously positive and trusting when cynicism is the default here, the DX12 threads were especially bad, where people were acting like it was going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread.
You can say that “oh it was just people giving microsoft a chance” but to me it screams viral marketing. The game devs aren’t falling over themselves to use it either. I won’t revert, as the ‘upgrade’ landed me a legal Win10 license, but I won’t say that the Wine 3. In my country the damage does not have to be intentional, only due to recklessness, for it to be in breach of the computer misuse act.
Don’t you realize how insecure that is!? You’re gonna get doxxed and have crypto miners take over your PC, go re-enable updates, now! Same people that bought anti-virus software all those years and had multiple programs “securing” them from apparently the millions of hackers that were after their minesweeper high scores and all that other important data they don’t have.
W7 for me currently, probably Linux eventually, I’ve been dying to get out of the Windows ecosystem for a long time, W10 is finally giving me the push I needed. As for DX12 exclusive games, I’m lucky enough that not a one of them interests me in the slightest.
When I upgraded to my new Ryzen cpu, I was made aware in no uncertain terms that the platform did not support windows 7. For now. More and more games will use DX12, and at some point more and more games start to also become DX12 exclusives.
The solution is to vote with your wallet. If DX12 games continually see poor sales as they do not support the systems that people want to be on, developers won’t use DX The same thing happened with DX Does anyone remember any notable titles that were DX10 exclusive? The only one I can think of was Halo 2. Because Vista-exclusive DX10 games sold poorly, since enough people chose to boycott Vista and related software, even if it wasn’t a formally organized boycott. Full disclaimer: I am currently in the process of moving my computers to Windows 10, and have already moved my main desktop.
Any DX12 game is still an instant no-buy from me. Unfortunately your comment has been removed because it contains a link to a blacklisted spam domain: blogspot. For more information, see our blacklisted spam domain list and FAQ.

Linux has been on the rise for gaming, while still missing some major games support is growing all major engines like Unity , Unreal and Cryengine to name a few, have an easy process to export to Linux. Ironically some devs don’t want to port to Linux because there aren’t enough gamers on it, while gamers don’t want to switch because their dev won’t port to it, creating a cycle that in the end only benefits Windows.
My advice, make a dual boot, Linux boots fast even without fastboot or an SSD, you don’t have to commit I have yet to find a game that only runs on Linux, in fact in most cases Linux games also run on MacOS and Windows as well giving you freedom to switch but it will aid in increasing Linux numbers resulting in more interest of devs so people won’t have to base their decision for an OS on the software available for it and instead can base their choice on the featureset of the OS which will benefit the user in the end.
No Linux has not been on the rise for gaming. In fact, it lost 0. Might not sound like much, but considering that they make a whooping 0. The performance of GPU drivers still feels like they are behind compared to windows, even the proprietary once. Do I use linux distributions? I love to program on those. I also have some games installed on them, for when I need a break from said programming.
But they run nowhere near as good as they do under Windows 10 for me. The steam hardware and software survey are random, users get prompted with the option to partake as opposed to just doing it naturally this can be fit for abuse as it can artificially inflate numbers by making a bunch of alternate accounts for the survey meaning it is inconclusive about the actual state of the Steam userbase.
Compared to , the Linux platform has certainly grown in both userbase as viability for gaming. By this logic when we got an increase of Chinese users we lost a vast amount of English users. These percentages can mean a number of things, it could be Windows growth is still larger than that of Linux and that both can be growing but Windows is doing it at a faster pace without solid numbers it is hard to tell if a userbase is indeed declining or if it is experience a weaker growth compared to other userbases.
Not really , when using actual benchmarking tools the difference is small and not necessarily in favor of 1 OS all the time , games will be a case by case basis some are optimized and some just use compatibility layers meaning performance is depended on the game similarly to console ports to Windows remember how Arkham Knight had a terrible PC port while running fine on Console?
