PDF Preview Handler in Outlook and Windows Explorer doesn’t – Microsoft Community
I have a slightly annoying problem. I cannot preview pdf files through Outlook in my emails and have to double-click each attachment to open in Acrobat. When I try to preview the file within Outlook, I get the following message:.
Also I found that pdf files cannot be previewed in Windows Explorer in the preview plane, instead I get the following message:. I have a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop with 64bit Windows7. I remarked yesterday, that that the explorer preview didn’t more work for PDF-files, although it still worked for text, Word documents and some picture file types. Then I thought, that maybe Adobe had made a new version of the Reader program. Thank you very much, I had the problem in my Windows 10 entered the Adobe help tab and selected Correct Adobe Reader installation. After trying several online solutions, still didn’t work, but I reckoned the issue must be default program setting.. Details required : characters remaining Cancel Submit 7 people found this reply helpful. However, just fiddling with some of the options for example enabling PDF thumbnail previews and hitting OK fired up the installer and fixed the previewer problem in Outlook.

How satisfied are you with this reply? Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. Try reverting to Acrobat Reader 10, that’s what did it for me. In reply to iknsw’s post on March 17, I found a new solution, at least for myself. I also checked that the registry AppID is correct. Now my preview works again! In reply to JoukoAavikko’s post on July 13, And it works again! I have Windows 7 bit and got exactly the same problem. So after doing several trials and error, I resolved it.
