Sleepy WiFi. I’ve seen some older posts with this issue, but none every really say what the fix is. Seems this typically gets fixed by messing around in the systems and some unknown action fixes the issue.
I’ve not been so lucky. So, problem is; I have a new Dell Inspiron 13 series, i5 with Windows My Wifi connects and works fine. If the computer goes to sleep, or the screen saver comes on, when I wake it back up the Wifi says it’s “connected”, but it does not work.
If I hover over the WiFi icon in the lower right it says “no internet connection”. I can disconnect and reconnect to Wifi, but it still will not work. If I totally restart the computer, WiFi automatically connects and it’s all good until next time it sleeps or the screen saver comes on and I wake the system back up.
Anyone know how to fix this? This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.

The BIOS settings I got is from other forum, but it is not enough, So, I found out about this “Privacy” settings and BIOS combo does have an effect on my wireless module especially after waking up from sleep or hibernation. On the other hand, I do not need to un-check the “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” inside the Power Management tab of the wireless driver property to make it work.
I am not an expert in their Windows 10 system design, but I only a user who uses Windows 10 everyday for work purposes. I hope Windows 10 engineers can look into this and perhaps figure out why this combo can produce such erratic behavior on our wireless card in our laptop after waking from sleep or hibernation.
